WINTER BUSHCRAFT (SURVIVAL)
This informative and challenging class is held during the winter months
in Alaska. You will learn the following:
• How to snare small game with material that you can buy at
any hardware store for less than $5.00
• How to always catch fish (for less than $5.00)when they will not
bite on anything
• Shelter building for short and long term survival
• Basic animal tracking techniques
• Fire building with flint and steel
• Fire wood gathering
• Signaling (if it is appropriate for your circumstances)
• Winter travel
• How to inexpensively put together a winter survival kit
• How to feed you and your family when you run out of your
emergency rations
• What is edible from the beach and the bush
• And much more
After one full day of classroom time, participants will spend two days
and one night in the bush in the shelters that they build eating what
they catch and harvest.
Required Equipment:
- Appropriated winter clothing and boots
- Warm mittens and gloves
- Warm hat
- Two pair of dry socks
- Day pack
- Water bottle
- Sheath knife
- Pocket knife
- Compass (maps will be furnished) GPS is optional
- Flint and steel
- 50 +ft. of 550 cord
- Snowshoes or Cross Country skies
- Cost $325
